The Doraville Planning Commission denied recommending approval for a conditional use permit for a day spa and massage parlor located at 6817 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The commission felt that, while there was no limit on the number of spas and massage parlors in the city, there are already four similar businesses nearby. Officials felt that another massage parlor is not compatible with the city’s vision of progressive business in the area.
The commission also voted to recommend approval of a rezoning request for a Chevron station. Michael Zanch on behalf of the owner Amid Tejani, a Chevron franchisee, who operates a gas station and convenience store at 3635 Northcrest Road. The rezoning request was to change the property area from a light manufacturing district to a general business district.
