UPDATE (published Dec. 9): A Starbucks spokeswoman contacted The Atlanta Journal-Constitution late Friday afternoon with the following comment: "We are working closely with the local health department so we can continue to exceed the expectations of this store's customers and partners (employees). We swiftly took the necessary steps to address the citation, and anticipate full marks upon re-inspection of the store early next week."

ORIGINAL STORY: A major coffee chain failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting an "employee taking the trash out, and changing trash bags without washing hands with soap before making customers drinks."

According to the recent report, an employee was also observed "plugging up (a) cell phone without washing hands before making customers drinks."
