DeKalb man gets life without parole in toddler's beating death

A 30-year-old DeKalb County man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Tuesday for beating to death a 2-year-old girl in his care.

Diamone Wilson was admitted to a DeKalb hospital on July 15, 2010. The child had a head injury, and she she died three days later. The medical examiner said she also suffered trauma to her arms, liver and pelvis.

Robert Alexander was convicted Monday of her murder as well as cruelty to children and aggravated battery.
