The DeKalb History Center plans to reopen next Monday, July 6, requiring appointments for those who want to visit.

Anyone who wants to research historical archives or see the museum exhibits should contact staff to make an appointment.

Next Monday will be the first time the history center opens since closing in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Visitors are asked to wear face masks and not go to the history center if they feel sick. The new hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The current museum exhibits on display are: Deep Roots in DeKalb, The Flat Rock Story of Resilience; Silk & Stitch, An Exploration of Embellishment in Fashion; Decorative Arts from the Permanent Collection; and Reclaimed by Nature. Prospective visitors can learn more about the exhibits on the history center's website.
