Residents in DeKalb can expect scattered showers Monday, with rain chances beginning around noon and lasting throughout the day, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Monday’s weather is already hot and sticky with high humidity, and temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s to low 90s.

In addition to watching the sky, commuters should also watch their speed today. Georgia is one of several states that will be cracking down on speeders in a national, "Operation Southern Shield," speed enforcement operation. The enforcement operation runs through July 22.
