DeKalb County and Dunwoody have reached a deal for the county continue trash pick-up in the city, though it may change in the next two months.
The price will remain the same for residents in Dunwoody, who now pay the same rate as those in unincorporated DeKalb.
What may change is a new incentive, requested by Dunwoody, to encourage more businesses and apartments to add recycling. Nearly 40 percent of city residents live in apartments, many of which do not offer recycling.
The county offers recycling containers for large operations – at a lower rate than typical bins -- but may try to help complexes and businesses find the space for them.
