DeKalb County recently agreed to use $150,000 of federal money to repair the roof at the Elaine Clark Center for Exceptional Children.
The center, on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Chamblee, offers educational classes, therapeutic play and other services for youth with developmental disabilities such as autism.
The county is using money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the repairs, since more than half of students at the center are from low- to moderate-income families.
