For the second time this week, a wild animal has ended up in a Georgia swimming pool.

Tuesday afternoon, a deer was pulled to safety from a pool in Cherokee County, Tim Cavender with the Cherokee fire department said.

When firefighters arrived at the Holly Springs home, they found a deer in a swimming pool.

"The deer appeared to have six points and was in the deepest section of the pool and couldn’t get out on his own," Cavender said.

Firefighters coaxed the animal to the shallow end of the pool, where animal control officials pulled the deer to safety. The deer ran back into the woods after the rescue, Cavender said.

Early Saturday, White County officials helped remove a buffalo from a family's swimming pool. The buffalo had apparently escaped from a nearby farm.
