The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday upheld the death sentence imposed against Daryl Stinski for the killings of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter in Chatham County.

On the evening of April 10, 2002, Stinski and his co-defendant, Dorian O'Kelley, broke into the home of 41-year-old Susan Pittman. They found Pittman and her daughter, Kimberly, asleep in separate bedrooms. After the two men killed Pittman, O'Kelley raped her teenage daughter. The two men beat and stabbed Kimberly before setting the house on fire.

Stinski was sentenced to death in 2007; O'Kelley, whose death sentence was upheld by the state Supreme Court in 2008, was tried and convicted in 2005.
