Alpharetta has hired a Fairfax, Va., company to conduct surveys along streams throughout the city.

The surveys will provide updates for floodplain modeling and mapping in conjunction with Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Contractors will be working within stream buffers in the right-of-way and on private property. In cases where private access is required, city officials said Dewberry representatives will contact the property owner and hand-deliver a letter explaining the work to be performed.

Those with questions about the survey should contact Jill Bazinet at jbazinet@alpharetta.ga.us or 678- 297-6200.
