Officials were still working Friday afternoon to remove a crane that sliced through a Brookhaven home.

Crews were using the crane to remove a giant oak tree from the backyard of the home in the 1100 block of Alexandria Court, DeKalb County fire Capt. Eric Jackson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The crane flipped because of too much weight on one end and crashed into Andy and Suzanne Williams’ home Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News. The boom reached all the way to the neighborhood behind the residence, the news station reported.

The homeowners were in the home at the time of the incident. While they escaped without injuries, they are concerned the home will cave in completely when the crane is gone, according to Channel 2.

Three additional cranes have been brought in to help remove the toppled one.

It’s not clear if the home can be salvaged, Channel 2 reported Friday. The family said the crane company told them they would pay for all repairs and even rebuild their home if necessary, the news station reported.
