A 17-year-old girl accused of stabbing a woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Cherokee County when deputies found her at a swimming pool.

The suspect, Vanessa White, was in taken into custody about two hours after allegedly stabbing Maggie Fulton, Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said.

Fulton, 43, called 911 to report that she had been stabbed by White in her home on Williamsburg Lane, off Ga. 92 near Woodstock, Baker said. White then left the home on foot, police said.

Fulton was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the stabbing was related to a dispute between White and Fulton's two children, Baker said Tuesday evening.

White has been charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, burglary, and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, Baker said. White was booked into the Cherokee Adult Detention Center, where she was being held Tuesday evening without bond.
