A Cobb County man is accused of stealing electrical power to grow 362 marijuana plants inside his home.

Phu V. Pham, 52, allegedly admitted he ran the grow house, located in the 800 block of Old Powder Springs Road in Mableton, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.

A Cobb County police officer patrolling the area Thursday evening smelled marijuana, the warrant states, and returned the following day. That's when the officer sniffed out the suspected grow house and secured a search warrant, police said.

Inside the home, officers found 362 plants growing with the help of a sophisticated, high-powered light system. Although the Georgia Power Company's meter at the home was working properly, Pham allegedly had accessed the main power line and bypassed the meter.

"The meter was working properly but it was not registering any power usage," the warrant states.

Pham was arrested late Friday and charged with trafficking marijuana and theft of services, both felonies, according to police. On Tuesday, he remained in the Cobb County Detention Center, where he was being held without bond.
