A 20-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a Kroger employee told police he knew what he did was wrong. But he added that he couldn't be in jail long because he has a beach trip planned for spring break, according to a Gwinnett County police report obtained by the AJC.
John Emory Bragg, of Lawrenceville, was charged with public indecency Monday morning after a grocery store employee reported the incident to police.
A female employee of the Kroger on Herrington Road told police she was cleaning the front restrooms of the store when Bragg walked in, so she stood outside of the restroom, the report states.
As she was standing outside, Bragg allegedly opened the restroom door and had his pants down while holding his shirt up, exposing himself, the woman told police.
The woman screamed and told the store manager, who provided video from the store's camera to police, the report states.
Based on the description of the suspect the woman provided, officers stopped Bragg after he had walked a short distance from the Kroger and placed him under arrest.
"The suspect asked if it was a felony or a misdemeanor and when he could get out," the police report states. "The suspect said that he needed to get out soon because he had to go to Panama for Spring Break."
Bragg spent a night in jail before posting $1,300 bond and being released Tuesday, jail records show.
