Computer programmers team wins Augusta plane pull
May 3, 2010
A team of computer programmers proved they could pull a FedEx Boeing 727 jet farther and faster than teams made up of firefighters, soldiers, sailors and football players.
It was the second year in a row that Ipswitch, the team of computer programmers, won the FedEx sponsored plane pull at Augusta Regional Airport.
The Augusta Chronicle reported that 36 teams participated in the plane pull on Saturday. The computer programmers pulled the 150,000-pound plane 12 feet in 6.499 seconds.
The competition included teams from Gold's Gym, the Army, the Navy and the CSRA Cobras football team.
