This morning, they found the car.

But the driver is still on the run.

College Park Police on Friday said they found the Pontiac G-6 that they say Willie Lee Wilson III used to try and run over two of their officers in February.

“We saw a car with bad engine problems going down the road,” College Park Lt. Reed Pollard told the AJC on Friday.

They found the car in a secluded wooded area off of Jonesboro Road.

But Wilson, who is wanted on two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, was nowhere to be found.

Police said they saw him trying to steal wheel rims off of a car at the Southern Heights complex around daybreak  of Feb. 24.

He got in the Pontiac and drove off, hitting at least one of the police officers as well as a College Park police car.

Officers shot at the fleeing man, but it's unclear whether he was hit.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
