A College Park police officer arrested last week after allegedly getting into a fight with his girlfriend was fired Monday following an internal investigation, interim chief Ron Fears said.

Yardley Hines, 41, had fought with his girlfriend before his shift last Wednesday, officials said. When he returned home, the fight resumed and he grabbed the woman and twisted her arm, according to authorities. Hines was charged with simple battery and placed on administrative leave.

Hines spent three nights in Fulton County jail and was released after paying a $1,000 fine, Fulton County sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan told the AJC.
