A Cobb County restaurant will have to undergo another review by the health department, as the eatery failed its Aug. 13 food service inspection.

Pacific Buffet Sushi and Grill at 2475 Chastain Meadows Parkway in Marietta scored a 49, or U, on its inspection conducted by the Cobb & Douglas Public Health Department. Anything below a 70 is considered failing.

According to the report, several flies were observed in the kitchen and a large buildup of mold was found inside three ice machines. An employee was also seen "wiping arms, head, and scratching (an) arm," but didn't wash his hands before entering the prep kitchen, the report adds.

Other violations include:

•Eggs and Brussel sprouts measured above 41 degrees Fahrenheit;

•Raw pork stored above ready-to-eat crab meat salad in a cooler;

•A prep cooler was holding food above 41 degrees;

•The restaurant had no thermometers to check food temperatures; and,

•Air gaps were observed at the back door.

A follow-up inspection was scheduled to be held, but no date was provided.
