Cobb County police are looking for two men for the armed robbery of an Austell-area shoe store Monday night.

Cobb police Officer Joe Hernandez said that about 8:30 p.m., a masked man entered The Shoe Department in the 1100 block of the East-West Connector, and "immediately pointed a handgun at a cashier."

The gunman escorted the cashier to the cashier station "and demanded money from the register," Hernandez said. "When the male determined the cashier would be unable to  open the cash register, he grabbed a bank bag from the counter."

The bank bag did not contain any currency, Hernandez said.

He said a second man, also wearing a mask, stood by the entrance to the store, acting as a lookout. Both men fled on foot toward Floyd Road.
