Cobb police get heavy armor

The Cobb County police department has refurbished a donated Armored Personnel Carrier for officers to use in SWAT situations.

Cobb County police unveiled their new crime-fighting machine, a repurposed military armored personnel carrier.

The vehicle will be used by the SWAT unit to aid in the rescue and evacuation of people in dangerous situations.

The new vehicle is being driven by Detective Steve Brawner. It will be on display at Marietta Square for the festival on Saturday.

The vehicle has a variety of cameras and sensors, including infrared and night vision.
