Cobb County Schools was named one of the nation's 179 best communities for music education, according to a survey by the NAMM Foundation and the American Music Conference. The online survey, given to teachers and school officials, asked detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities and support for music programs. Responses were reviewed and verified with district officials. DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett also made the 2011 list.
