Metro Atlanta police departments are all too familiar with the smash-and-grabs targeting expensive hair extensions at local beauty products shops.

Marietta police released video Wednesday of two suspects making a mad dash for extensions this week on Delk Road and are seeking the public's help in capturing the Cobb County thieves.

The video recorded the heist at 4 a.m. Tuesday at Top 1 Beauty Supply in the 1200 block of Delk Road. One male is seen walking in front of the business while another one waits nearby. Police said one man used a rock to smash a window to gain access. Soon both suspects can be seen running away with two large bags.

Police say an estimated $15,000 worth of human hair used for weaves was stolen.

The two males are believed to be in their 20s.

The smash-and-grabs have become common across the city, with suspects often using stolen vehicles to gain entry to businesses, and the thieves are in and out within a few minutes. In one heist in Morrow, thieves took at least $100,000 in weaves, police said.
