The five candidates running to replace the late state Rep. Bobby Franklin will participate in a candidate forum on Monday in Marietta.

The Republican candidates include real estate agent Roy C. Barnes, banker John Carson, former Cobb GOP chairman Don Hill, former state Sen. Robert Lamutt and physician Geraldine Wade.

The forum begins at 7 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 4495 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, and will be moderated by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution political columnist Jim Galloway.

Franklin was found dead in his home in July after complaining of chest pains.

A special election is set for Sept. 20 for the House Dist. 43 seat.
