Barry Crocker, a custodian at Nicholson Elementary in Cobb County, is the top winner of the 2011 Custodial Leaders for Environmental Advocacy Nationwide (CLEAN) Award, which recognizes contributions to public health. Crocker was selected from a pool of 30 qualifying applications from across the country. He will receive $5,000 and an expenses-paid trip to Washington to pick up the award at a National Education Association conference in March. Nicholson principal Wanda Shue said Crocker leads by example and encourages students and staff to take pride in the school.
