Feb 27, 2016Police are urging Cobb County drivers to avoid the area surrounding Marco Rubio's rally this afternoon near Marietta.
Rubio, the Florida senator seeking the Republican presidential nomination, will speak at Mount Paran Christian School at 12:30 p.m. Marietta police issued an alert asking drivers to steer clear of the area — near Barrett Parkway and Stilesboro Road — until 3 p.m.
(The school’s address is listed in Kennesaw, but it is actually inside Marietta city limits).
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is also in Atlanta on Saturday. His rally was scheduled for 11 a.m. at Liberty Plaza, the park across the street from the Georgia Capitol.
Several other candidates will be in the area next week.
