Cobb Chamber names new COO

Nov 12, 2010

Demming Bass has been selected as the new chief operating officer of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

Bass’ 15 years of chamber experience includes serving the last five years as vice president of communication sand public policy with the Gwinnett Chamber.

Bass replaces his wife Holly, who is leaving the Cobb chamber to become the new chief executive officer of the Cobb Convention and Visitors Bureau.

David Connell took over as the chamber’s new president and CEO on Nov. 1. Connell, a longtime Southern Company executive, was selected as a permanent successor to former chairman Bill Cooper, who retired after 11 years in the position.

Chamber board chairman Rob Garcia was approved by the executive board for a second term last month. The position would have been filled by former WellStar Health System CEO Gregory Simone, who resigned his chamber position after being fired by WellStar in September.
