Alpharetta police are investigating if the former operators of a local pain clinic broke any laws when they moved out and allegedly left behind hundreds of patient records, Channel 2 Action News reports.
The Wellness Centers of Atlanta closed about a month ago. But the building’s owner said when his business partner obtained a court order and entered the office over the weekend, he found personal patient records inside.
“These files contained Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, telephone numbers and other personal identifiers,” Officer George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, told Channel 2.
Officers took the files into custody.
