Clerk shot at Glenwood Road store

Atlanta crime scene technicians dust for prints at the Citgo convenience store on Glenwood Avenue in southeast Atlanta where a clerk was shot and killed early Thursday morning.

Atlanta homicide detective Mark Cooper looks for projectiles outside the gas station at the Glenwood Food Mart in the 2300 block of Glenwood Avenue at Fayetteville Road.

An Atlanta crime scene technician photographs the place where gunfire broke glass at the Glenwood Food Mart. Police said the store clerk was working his normal shift when the suspect entered, produced a handgun and demanded money.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Police say the gunman fired several of the shots inside the store, but fired at least one from outside.

Police were interviewing two witnesses early Thursday and were reviewing security video from the store. Atlanta police Major Keith Meadows (left) and Lt. Paul Guerrucci exit the Citgo.
