Clayton officer stabbed at home

Oct 24, 2010

A Clayton County police officer was stabbed in his home in southeast Atlanta by an unknown assailant, Atlanta police spokesman Officer James Polite told the AJC.

The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. Sunday at a townhouse complex in the 500 block of McWilliams Road SE, he said.

The officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition, Polite said.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the officer was stabbed multiple times in the upper torso and that the attack does not appear to be random.

Police are still on the scene.
