Several metro Atlanta jurisdictions and organizations are sponsoring a civil rights-related art contest for students.

"The Dream Art Contest: Visions of the Civil Rights Movement and America Today" is for public schools and after-school art programs.

Supporters include public and private arts and educational groups in the city of Atlanta and DeKalb and Fulton counties. The submission deadline is Nov. 18, with awards in early February during Black History Month. Information: thedreamartcontest.com.
