City of Atlanta to host Earth Day events Tuesday

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, EPA Region 4 Administrator Gwen Keyes Fleming and consumer advocate Clark Howard will mark Earth Day on Tuesday with a city-wide cleanup, followed by a rally.

More than 50 teams and 400 volunteers are expected to take the 2nd Annual Atlanta Earth Day Cleanup Challenge in various neighborhoods across the city.

The cleanup projects will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. project led by Reed and Fleming at Mims Park, 641 Spencer St.

At noon, Reed, Fleming and Howard will host a rally at Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Ave.
