The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office is hosting a child support “settlement” day for parents who are behind to become compliant.

The event is this Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Child Support Enforcement Division of the DA’s office. Notification letters have been mailed to eligible parents outlining the amount due and other documents required to be presented in person.

Parents who make proper payments can have their driver’s licenses reinstated, if eligible, the DA’s office said.

“Our primary interest is in giving non-custodial parents an opportunity to get back on track with their payments and provide support to the children and families we serve,” said DA Sherry Boston. “Where appropriate, we will also assist with employment training and other resources to support them in that effort. It is our hope that legal action is a last resort.”

The DA’s office is located at 556 N. McDonough St., suite 700, Decatur.
