Charges are expected to be filed in a weekend wreck that critically injured a 12-year-old girl, Cobb County police said Monday.
The driver of a 1990 Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound on Dallas Highway around 5:25 p.m. Saturday and attempted to turn left into the Village at Old Trace shopping center at Bob Cox Road. The Nissan was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado traveling east on Dallas Highway, police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
A 12-year-old girl riding in the back of the Nissan was airlifted to Childrens Health Care at Scottish Rite in critical condition. A 10-year-old girl in the Nissan's back seat was also taken to Scottish Rite with non-life-threatening injuries, Pierce said
The driver of the Nissan, 63-year-old Joab Kunin of Kennesaw, and a passenger, 51-year-old Jacqueline Keaton of Atlanta, were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with non-life-threatening injuries, Pierce said. The driver of the Chevrolet, 23-year-old Jacqueline Waters of Powder Springs, was also taken to Kennestone with non-life-threatening injuries.
Pierce said the investigation is continuing and charges are expected to be filed.
