The New Student Gateway of the Cherokee County School District is now open for parents registering new students online for the 2019-20 school year, district officials announced.

The Gateway makes it possible for parents to register from home in 15 to 20 minutes for the initial student; the process goes even faster for siblings, officials said. Parents are asked to enter identification information, such as emergency contact names and numbers, and can upload legally required documents for enrollment.

Parents then make an appointment to bring the documents into the district for verification to complete enrollment. Those unable to upload from home can have documents scanned by school staff during the appointment.

Parents who missed the window for online kindergarten registration in March also can register their children now, officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2VJ8e0Z

“Our new online registration system has been a great success in its first year,” said schools Superintendent Brian V. Hightower. “This new system not only is easier for parents to use, it also significantly improves our staff efficiency, increases the accuracy of important information and decreases our paper waste.”
