Cherokee County investigators have arrested two people in connection with stabbing a 19-year-old Woodstock man to death during a fight early Saturday morning.
Robert Matteson, 19, and Saphire Foster, 18, both of Acworth, were arrested Saturday morning, a Cherokee County sheriff's spokesman said.
Matteson is accused of killing Chris Sanchez, 19, of Woodstock, police said. The two were acquaintances, according to Lt. Jay Baker.
Sanchez was taken by friends to WellStar Kennestone Hospital around 2 a.m., after being stabbed during a fight at 6897 Galts Ferry Road in Acworth, police said.
He died at the hospital, police said.
Investigators went looking for Matteson and Foster, who is his girlfriend, Saturday morning. The pair were arrested after deputies stopped them in a neighborhood near Kellogg Creek Road, police said.
Matteson has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Foster is charged with battery.
Police do not yet have a motive for the stabbing, Baker said.
