It could be weeks before investigators decide whether charges will be filed in a boating accident on Lake Lanier Sunday that killed a 14-year-old Buford boy.

"The incident is under investigation and anything regarding charges is likely weeks away as our critical incident response team re-creates the incident and analyzes data, conducts interviews, etc.," said Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Melissa Cummings.

The body of the teen was pulled from Lake Lanier Sunday.

The boy, identified Sunday as Trevor Jones, was found by Hall County divers at 1:10 p.m.

Dawson County officials said he disappeared Saturday evening during a boating accident on the lake near Toto Park on Highway 136.

Two boats carrying a total of 15 people collided at about 7 p.m. Saturday, said Cummings.

Also injured were Kaitlyn Smith, 13, who was taken by helicopter to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, and Jack Struve, 57,  who was hospitalized with a jaw injury.
