The mother and grandmother of a Palmetto toddler hospitalized after he ingested cocaine were granted bond Thursday.

Fulton magistrate Jessy Lall granted a $30,000 bond for the mother, Andrica Daniel, 17, and grandmother, Ebony Daniel, 34, saying the women had no criminal history.

Charlie Martin, 22, the boyfriend of the child's grandmother, was also granted a $30,000 bond. Lall said Martin also had no prior convictions.

All were jailed on child abuse and drug charges.

Ebony Daniel and Martin turned themselves in Tuesday after warrants were issued for their arrests. Andrica Daniel was arrested Wednesday.

The 13-month-old boy's mother took him to Piedmont Newnan Hospital on Saturday afternoon after he ingested cocaine, police said. He was transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. He was admitted to the hospital for observation, and police said he tested positive for cocaine. He has since been released.

The boy is staying with relatives, and police said they are working with the Division of Family and Children Services to determine who should have custody of the child.

Channel 2 Action News reported that Martin, 22, Ebony Daniel's boyfriend, claimed to own the cocaine.

Palmetto police Sgt. Lee Gragg would not say whether police believed initial reports that Andrica Daniel was in the shower when the incident happened, or what led investigators to obtain an arrest warrant for her.

Martin, Ebony Daniel and Andrica Daniel were each charged with possession of cocaine, first-degree child cruelty and reckless conduct.
