Two people have been charged in a shooting outside a DeKalb County nightclub early Friday that led to a police chase and wreck that blocked busy Redan Road for much of the morning, police said.

Around 5 a.m., a DeKalb officer working an off-duty part-time job across from The Shadow Room at 3443 Covington Drive heard gunfire from the nightclub parking lot, DeKalb Police Lt. Antonio Catlin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The officer believed the shots came from a silver Dodge Durango that sped from the lot, Catlin said. Police also reported seeing a Jaguar leave, and a lookout was posted over the radio for both vehicles.

The Jaguar was stopped, and officers discovered 45-year-old Gary Davis inside with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Catlin said.

Police spotted the Durango near Covington Highway and I-285 and pursued the SUV when the driver allegedly refused to stop. The shooter was one of the individuals in the Durango, police said.

Officers followed the Durango to Redan Road near Stone Mountain, where the SUV lost control, rolled and struck a tree and telephone pole, Catlin said. Some of the SUV's seven occupants were thrown from the vehicle.

Davis and the Durango's occupants were transported in conditions ranging from serious to critical to a nearby hospital, police said.

Investigators determined that robbery may have been the motive for the shooting.

Quinton Hall, 27, and Brandon Ennis, 17, were charged with criminal attempt armed robbery and aggravated assault. The other occupants of the suspects' vehicle were being investigated to determine their involvement in the incident, Catlin said.
