DeKalb County has selected the contractor that will remake Mason Mill Park near Decatur.

Construction of a new play area, dog park and relocated parking spaces are slated to begin later this year. The $2.1 million of work is part of an overall $7 million upgrade to the park. Funding for the project comes from the county’s parks bond.

The work also will include improved storm water management and a new PATH trail over the railroad tracks in Mason Mill Park that will connect to Medlock Park.
