The city of Norcross will hold a ceremonial grand opening Saturday for its brand new Discovery Garden Park -- and food trucks, live music and kids events will be involved.

The park, located near the city's welcome center at 189 Lawrenceville St., offers an outdoor classroom pavilion, a grilling station and native plant collections. It is also home to a community garden, where residents can grow their own fruits, vegetables and flowers.

The grand opening will kick off at 1 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Bucky Johnson. "Local TV and radio garden guru" Walter Reeves will also speak.

Kids activities start at 1:30 p.m. and include storytelling, "scouting for fairy and gnome houses" and planting a "sharing garden."

Live music begins at 2:30 p.m.
