Carhop robbed at Duluth Sonic

Gwinnett County police are investigating the robbery of a Sonic carhop that occurred Dec. 8 outside the restaurant at 3280 Satellite Boulevard in Duluth.

The carhop told police that a man came up to him around 4:45 p.m. near the rear of the building and asked for a cigarette. When the carhop reached into his pocket, the robber hit him in the face. The suspect then threw the carhop on the ground and stole the wallet where he kept proceeds for the restaurant, according to a police report.

The robber ran away toward the mall parking lot, but dropped a hat and sunglasses he had been wearing. Police collected the items for further investigation.
