Canton residents get discounted Y memberships
The Canton City Council has updated its affiliation agreement with the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta Inc. to give city residents a 20 percent discount on memberships.
To qualify, Canton residents must specifically join the G. Cecil Pruett Family YMCA at 151 Waleska St.
Discounted monthly rates, for example, range from $30 for young adults to $44 for seniors and $75 for families, compared with $37, $54 and $93, respectively, before the discount. Residents also are eligible for a waiver of joining fees, which range from $24 for teenagers to $69 for adults and $99 for couples and families.
The agreement also creates a “house account” for Canton so that the city can refer employees that wish to join at the reduced rates.
