Cadaver dogs lead to targeted search for missing teen

Cadaver dogs have led divers looking for a missing teen in Lake Lanier's murky waters to narrow their search not far from where last Monday's boating accident occurred.

"We're getting pretty consistent hits from the cadaver dog teams," said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Wilbanks cautioned that the recovery unit has still not pinpointed the exact location of 13-year-old Griffin Prince, who was killed, along with his 9-year-old brother, after the pontoon boat they were on was hit by a fishing vessel.

Divers are dealing with "heavy timber," Wilbanks said, in waters from 80-to-100 feet deep in Shoal Creek, not far from Buford Dam.

No end date has been set for the search, which was joined Monday by FBI divers.
