DeKalb County police Thursday were investigating a smash-and-grab burglary at a pawn shop on Moreland Avenue.
The thieves backed a Jeep Cherokee with Michigan license plates through the front doors of the Cash America shop in the 1200 block of Moreland before 3 a.m., then abandoned the vehicle. The Jeep was still sticking out of the building, its engine running, shortly after 5 a.m.
According to a DeKalb police incident report obtained by the AJC, five males, all wearing gloves and with their faces covered with white t-shirts, entered the pawn shop, stealing a flat-screen television and a computer.
Police did not know whether there was a second vehicle involved or if the suspects fled on foot. The Jeep had not been reported stolen, according to the police report.
