A suspected robber was shot and killed Wednesday morning, Aug. 10, 2011 at a Burger King in Buckhead.

A suspected robber was shot and killed Wednesday morning, Aug. 10, 2011 at a Burger King in Buckhead.

The suspected robber was lying face-down in the parking lot of the restaurant at 2425 Peachtree Road, near Lindbergh Drive after an Atlanta police officer had confronted and shot him inside the restaurant after the officer was challenged.

The fatal shot was fired by an officer outside in the parking lot.

Police tape off the scene at the Burger King. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office was on the scene of the investigation into the shooting. Two Burger King employees were taken from the scene in a police car.

The medical examiners' gurney is stationed near the investigators during the investigation.
