A Buford man has been charged in connection with a fatal five-car crash Sunday on I-985 in Hall County, police said.

William Robinson was one of eight people injured when his Ford F-150 hit another Ford F-150 in front of him, killing Virginia Hiscock, 66, and William Hiscock, 55, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

The 33-year-old faces two misdemeanor vehicular homicide charges, police said.

The chain reaction of crashes began when traffic was slowing from another crash ahead.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. Auston Allen said the chaotic scene left debris scattered along the freeway. He said crash scene photos were too graphic to share.

“It literally looked like a bomb had exploded,” Allen said.
