A Gwinnett County man is facing charges related to breaking into a home and setting a fire in the living room, Hall County officials said Tuesday.

Aaron Ecclecius Shaw, 29, of Buford, allegedly entered a home in the 5400 block of Huntington Mill Drive on Wednesday.

Once inside, Shaw piled up combustible materials on the living room floor and ignited them, Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said.

Officials did not release information about Shaw’s motive, but said he was related to the person living in the house.

When Shaw was arrested Tuesday on Capitola Farm at Spout Springs roads, he had five bags of methamphetamine in his possession, Wilbanks said.

In addition to the burglary and arson charges, Shaw faces possession and distribution of meth charges.

He was booked into the Hall County jail and the case remains under investigation.
