Buckhead SWAT standoff
The armed man involved in a police standoff incident in Atlanta and the kidnapping and rape of a Kennesaw State University student is dead.

APD SWAT officer and uniformed officer peer around the 1776 Peachtree Building Thursday. The incident, in which there were reports of shots fired, was taking place near the intersection of Peachtree and 26th Street. Atlanta SWAT officers were on the scene as well as Fire Rescue units staging in the 1700 block of Peachtree Street near Mellow Mushroom Pizza.
