The city of Brookhaven is planning additional plantings along Ashford Dunwoody Road. Previously planted greenery was removed because the trees did not meet federal guidelines and were in poor condition due to over-pruning. This created a loss of screening for neighborhoods along Ashford Dunwoody Road.

New trees and shrubs were planted that meet the required guidelines but do not provide enough screening. The city will add plantings to supplement the existing screening and help beautify the area.

The plantings will occur in early fall to have the best chance for survival.

The proposed plan calls for drought-tolerant evergreen plants, vine and red holly trees to fill in between existing evergreens. Those plants and trees will provide a screen and also meet the strict guidelines in the city code for planting trees.
