Two 17-year-old Cherokee County high school students were indicted Tuesday on six counts each of conspiracy to commit murder and one count each of conspiracy to commit arson.

Victoria McCurley and Alfred Dupree are accused of building an incendiary device and planning to attack “by means of fire and explosives” students and staff at Etowah High School in October.

The teenagers have been incarcerated in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center since October and are being charged as adults.
